Shipping Day - Hartwell 2011

This fall I had the privilege of photography the Shipping day at the Hartwell place. Took me back to day gone by. When I was little we would go out to the Hartwell place and brand. Always a big branding and a home cooked feed after to rival any other. Such a cool place with such rich history.

The sorta coaxin' and the sun is clear,
And the wind is singin' ballads that I got to hear.

The boss's caught up the stirrup.
Ready's aers are at attention.
In my mind I hear the pipe far away.
Another day, another dollar.
The sun is making ascesion.
We're mounting up,
For one more shipping day.

We worked for a week
'Til the country was clean,
Then carved out a herd
For the trail to Abilene

(Picture received from a Working Cowboy on Christmas Day..I replied Merry Christmas "Mr Working Cowboy" He replied " you too Mrs Working Cowboy"
....He must have sent the ...to whom he must have sent to all pretty girls in his phone because the next text I received was from another Pretty Girl who REPLIED TO ALL in her text ...which read"That's gorgeous. Merry Christmas. Missing you always"
lol....this was a hilarious & kinda made my day. I cordially replied to the "Working Cowboy" ....when sending picture messages to more than 1 pretty girl....you run the risk of them unknowingly replying to EVERYONE....like the Pretty Girl I just received a message from.
Working Cowboy replies "Ha ha oops no worries"
I replied something like..."Good to hear you are Fast Wild and Wanted all over the West"
Working Cowboy replies "Ha ha only one Mrs Working Cowboy" (keep in mind I just got a text from another girls seconds ago)
The next text I receive from the Working Cowboy is "What would you do if I asked you to marry me"
.......Moral of the Story....Don't Drink, Ride & Text! (...it did make me smile)

Oh wow....my phone was too full of messages to function properly...but there were oh so many that made me Laugh Out Loud! Who doesn't just love pickup horses that give 110% ! :)

Snicker Doodle Salad

Sticky....Gooey.....Rich.....Fruity.....Deliciousness!!!
I wanted to share with you a fun GO TO recipe from these parts....Snickerdoole Salad! SNICKER DOODLE SALAD ~ Crisp Delicous Apples, Bites of Snickers, and all lathered up in carmel and cream!!!! One of my favorites to dishes to whip up for a delicious get together.

Let the Party Begin!

PARTY GUEST LIST:
6 Apples (I use 3 Green & 3 Red for more color)
1 Bottle of Carmel Sauce
1 Tub of Cool Whip ( I used the Can Whipping Cream cuz it's what I had tonight, it works too)
1 Bag of Snickers (Fun size, Bite size, Super size...they all work)

Slice & Dice up the apples!
6 will serve a LOT of people. Figure about 1/2 an apple a person
(1 apple per person if they are my family :)
Also, You can make a simple single serving dessert if your flying solo for dinner)

Combine in a big beautiful bowl

Cut up Snickers (Small ones I split about 4 ways)

You can use any size of Snickers. Cut them up small bite size. Amount used depends on amount of Apples used. 6 Apples should take a full bag.
Ration is about 1 snickers bite to every 3 apple pieces.

Throw the Snicker pieces into your big beautiful bowl

Drizzle layers of gooey delicious CARMEL over your Snicker & Apple mixture!
Next a few dallops of Cool Whip!

(Amount used totally depends on personal preference. Use a 50/50 ratio with the Carmel & Cool Whip. You want enough to evenly coat the apples and Snickers but you don't want it to be soupy. I advise start slow & add more if needed)

K....these pics are just because ....oh my....they make my mouth water! So yummy!

Layers & Layers of Awesomeness!

Mix it all together until everything is thoroughly coated.
Let the PARTY begin!
