Uncle Jim's Famous BEER Batter BREAD

Uncle Jim's FAMOUS BEER BATTER BREAD!
Friday Morning: "I'm in head over heels in love.....or atleast a severe case of infatuation......with the steam, hot, delicious piece of beer bread that just came out of my oven! Pretty sure the salty finger lickin' good butter is what won me over! Heavenly!

Thank you to Max Max for leavin a beer in the fridge!"
Saturday Morning " ol....I might have a problem....Just cracked open my 1st beer of the day! Making another loaf of beer bread this morning. Seemed like a fabulous way to start the day ....not to mention a sensible way to take the chill out of the kitchen ;)"
Now a little later Saturday morning...by popular demand.....drum roll.....rrrrrrrrrr......THE RECIPE for ....................

Partners in Crime this morning...

3 c. flour
1/3 c. sugar
4 tsp. baking powder
1 room temp. 12 oz. beer
1/3 cup of Butter (used in Step 2.)
Mix 3 cups of Flour
(Yes, I own a beautiful mixer but seems I always grab for a mixing bowl anyway.
Geez, I bet the pioneer women where tough. I'm usually convinced it is mixed perfectly when my arm gets tired...lol...which isn't long)

Next 1/3 Cup of Sugar
&
4 tsps Baking Powder

I mix my dry ingredients together 1st but I don't think it matters

Before 8 am & we are bringing on the BEER!
Rebel without a cause ;)

Add Beer to dry mixture

Seriously....that is pretty fun :)
Mix Well.

Pour in a Bread Pan

Put it in a COLD OVEN
Turn Oven on to 325
Bake 40 minutes

Remove from oven after 40 minutes.
Pour 1/3 cup melted butter over the top.

Bake for 10 more minutes

HOT RIGHT OUT OF THE OVEN!

Most would probably wait for it to cool down
but I popped it right out of the pan & enjoyed a slice of pure deliciousness!

Enjoy every finger lickin bite!
Delicious!

Fabulous Partner in Crime!
Delicious alone & ever better with more accomplishes :)

Tried it with a slice of cheese this morning. So good!

Uncle Jim's FAMOUS BEER BATTER BREAD!

Ingredients Needed:

3 c. flour
1/3 c. sugar
4 tsp. baking powder
1 room temp. 12 oz. beer
1/3 cup of Butter (used in Step 2.)

Put all dry ingredients in bowl.Pour in beer. Mix well. Put in COLD oven.
Heat to 325 for 40 mins. Remove. Pour 1/3 cup melted butter over top. Bake an additional 10 mins.

P.S. Can also add ingredients of your choice- cinnamon, chopped apples, bananas, etc. Just mix them in with the original ingredients.

p.p.s I made a few alterations after a few loaves:
  • If you live in a pink house or a house that room temp is not that warm....You can put the can of beer in a bowl of warm water to warm it up a little more
  • Sifted Flour really does make your bread lighter & fluffier
  • 1/4 a cup of butter works just fine.
  • I add 1/2 teaspoon of salt....cuz I like it that way :)
