Dark Horse Buck Outs - NFR Prep

Many many years ago the rodeo trail brought me into Rexburg, Idaho every Wednesday to buck horses in the winter with my family. I called it going to town for "Buck Offs" ....lol....looking back I think the proper term was Buck Outs or Practice :) It was always COLD! The big indoor barn wasn't insulated and you bundled up in your warmest clothes and best snow boots. Us girls would usually run the stripping chute, laughing and having fun the entire time. Not to mention, if you were working....it was a LOT warmer in that barn.

Times change and years go by, we haven't had those practices in years. Jake Hayworth and Jim Hill were some of the young cowboys that rode at those practices so many years ago. Now they are helping the new generation of Rough Stock Athletes learn and practice riding bucking horses. They are Dark Horse Rodeo and they invited me to attend a practice right before the 2011 NFR. Here are a few things that caught my eye.

Thank you so much to Dark Horse Rodeo for letting us attend practice with you and capture a glimpse of the future of Rodeo. Thank you to all my readings for traveling the trail with me today!
Happy Trails,
